In Guest In The House, Anne Baxter (All About Eve, The Razor's Edge) stars as the unhinged, neurotic, psychotic Evelyn Heath, who needs a quiet place to relax and recuperate. Her doctor, Dan Proctor (Scott McKay ) lets her use his house in Maine, where she proceeds to manipulate his happily-married older brother Douglas (Ralph Bellamy - Trading Places, His Girl Friday) into falling in love with her.
Her cruel and heartless campaign to convince everyone in the house that she is the poor, innocent party causes a major rift and when Douglas realises what an evil woman Evelyn really is, he tells her to get professional help. She responds by trying to lure poor Dan into marriage and a final showdown results in death and redemption.
The film received an Academy Award nomination for Best Music in 1946.
